Zicago: Cebu’s Home of the ‘Original White Sauce Pizza’ and the Best of Times
Pita, pizza and pasta. Yeah, I love them, I love them more when they’re homemade. Thanks, Zicago!
MANDAUE CITY, CEBU. It was a sleepless Sunday morning when I was strolling with my friend Paige at the mall. Our rumbling tummies were yelling, and we badly needed to find a place where we can grab some bites for brunch.
I remembered that my fave food stall, Zicago, is just a few turns and steps away from the gadget store that we’ve visited. My friend and I both agreed to directly go there after checking out some tech stuff.
Zicago is a homegrown Italian-Mediterranean street food café that serves homemade pita, pizza and pasta. Yep, you read that right! All the food in their menu is homemade—from sauce to pita wraps.
We both ordered their bestselling wraps or pita sandwich. Hers was a roasted chicken pita as she doesn’t eat beef while I got the roasted beef pita sandwich (minus the onions). Yeah, I’m not a fan of onions, especially when they’re raw.
Ooops! I should share this. You can save some pesos when you take advantage of their free-drinks (take note, healthy drinks) promo if you buy any pita sandwiches.

I’ve also tried their pita pizza (yes, they’re using pita as their pizza crust) topped with their super tasty and creamy original white sauce. I’ve spoken with one of Zicago’s owners, Glenn; he discussed that it was them who introduced the white sauce pizza here in Cebu around year 1999. Aside from learning about this, undoubedtly, they’ve proven that their homemade tummy treats are flavorfully crafted with passion.

As always, I’ve got ‘yah covered! Here’s a peek of their menu.

Zicago operates at J Centre Mall, Mandaue City, Cebu. Through the mall’s entrance, you just need to take a few steps to your right so you can taste the food stall’s pride: the best of times with their pita, pasta and their wraps, too!
Since Zicago is operating inside a mall, seeking assistance from the mall’s concierge is a very good idea. Also, it might help; I’ve added the mall’s location via Google Maps below.
Of course, I wouldn’t be talking about Zicago if it isn’t one of my personal choices. It’s like my mind is already programmed that I need to grab a bite here. So, here ‘yah go! My top pick from their wrap menu—pita sandwich!

JUST SO YOU KNOW: Zicago got its name from the word Chicago, the birth place of pizza. “Chi” was changed to “Zi” to make it sound a little bit Italian, said Glenn.
If you love pizza, pasta or pita wraps, I’d recommend visiting Zicago and trying some of their servings to experience the best of times in Cebu.
Til our next chow time!
